AI for law and CPA firms. You still sign off.
Your staff may already be using AI, with or without a policy. BetaWave sets your firm up to use it with rules: approved tools, a written policy, trained people and a licensed review before work goes out.

What a firm AI policy can look like
| Task | Tool | Who checks it |
|---|---|---|
| Summarize a deposition | Approved business account | An attorney, against the transcript |
| Draft a routine client email | Approved business account | The attorney or CPA on the matter |
| Sort uploaded tax documents | Approved tool, if client consent allows | A licensed preparer |
| Paste client files into a free chatbot | Not allowed | Report it to the firm's AI lead |
What we set up
- Approved tools
- Paid business accounts chosen after reading their data terms, which keeps client files out of free chatbots
- A written AI policy
- Which tools are approved, what they can be used for and what gets checked, drafted for your firm to approve
- Staff training
- Hands-on sessions built around your own work, including how to spot AI answers that sound right and aren't
- Client intake
- Phone answering, forms and document collection that take details and never give advice
- Document work
- Summaries, first drafts and searches of your past work, always with a person reviewing
- Busy season help
- Chasing missing documents, sorting what comes in and drafting routine client emails
What we put in place
Law firms
- Business-grade tools for anything touching client information
- A lawyer reviews AI work before it leaves the firm
- Written rules for staff, with one person in charge of tools
- No AI giving legal advice to clients on its own
Read: Alabama State Bar AI best practices, which covers Rules 1.1, 1.6, 5.1 and 5.3, and ABA Formal Opinion 512
CPA firms
- Section 7216 consent reviewed before return data enters a tool
- AI tools covered in your written security plan
- A licensed preparer reviews AI work before it reaches a client
- Client data kept out of tools that train on it

BetaWave is not a law firm or a CPA firm, and we don't give legal, tax or ethics advice. We build and set up. Your licensed people decide what the rules require and approve the result. Outside Alabama, we start from your state's rules.
Will you see client files?
We start with sample data. Client files come in only if your licensed people approve it in writing for a specific task, and we sign your confidentiality agreement first. Ask, and we'll tell you which tools a project uses.

Start with a call
I've been using AI for over two years. The first call is free, and I return calls and emails the same business day. Bring your questions and your current policy, if you have one.
